Rap songs and pizza boxes. Coral Gables attorney is cuffed for aggravated stalking, cops say
A Coral Gables attorney — who was allegedly lurking outside a fellow attorney’s home while sending him threatening rap songs and messages — found himself in handcuffs on a stalking charge, reports say.
A redacted but detailed arrest report alleges Carlos Santi, a 43-year-old real estate and insurance lawyer, stalked an unnamed victim at his home and at his business multiple times. On Friday, Miami-Dade Judge Mindy Glazer identified the victim as another attorney who works at a different Coral Gables firm, WPLG-ABC 10 reported.
According to the report:
The lawyer told Coral Gables police that Santi was “continuously” harassing and intimidating him by showing up unannounced and uninvited to his law office.
Scared of Santi, he closed his office and sent his workers home, fearing what Santi could do.
Santi began sending him several text messages. The lawyer promptly told Santi to stop — but he refused.
He instead passed by the lawyer’s home and sent messages from outside. He sent rap songs with “threatening lyrics” and mentioned his children, the report read.
On Thursday, officers arrested Santi, who at the time had two pizza boxes with the lawyer’s and his wife’s names on them.
“The ... victim’s children have been emotionally in distress due to the defendant’s actions and constant harassment,” the report read.
As of Friday evening, Santi remained in the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a charge of aggravated stalking.
