How to get around the major art festival in Coconut Grove this holiday weekend

The Coconut Grove Arts Festival is back in town for the 57th year — and with it comes four days of traffic.

The three-day festival showcases fine arts, live performances and local cuisine. The activities run across several blocks, from Peacock Park to Regatta Park in Coconut Grove.

Road closures will begin Friday, a day before the festival’s official start on Feb. 15.

The first street closings taking place at McFarlane Road from Main Highway to Mary Street, and Mary Street from Grand Avenue to South Bayshore start at 10 a.m. on Feb. 14 and end at 11 p.m. on Feb. 17.

At 1 p.m. Feb. 14 through 11 p.m. on Feb. 17, South Bayshore Drive will also be closed from Mary Street to Southwest 27th Avenue, and Southwest 27th Avenue between Tigertail and South Bayshore Drive.

South Bayshore Drive from Darwin Road to 27th Avenue, and Pan American Drive from South Bayshore to Darwin Road there will be closures from 3 p.m. Feb. 14 to 11 p.m. Feb. 17.

Miami police will set up detours on South Bayshore Drive at Aviation Avenue and on Tigertail between Aviation Avenue and Southwest 27th Avenue.

It is also advised that those taking southbound I-95 should take the Dolphin Expressway to 27th Avenue to avoid traffic.
