Monty’s Raw Bar and marina, a Coconut Grove institution, has sold to new owners for an undisclosed amount, according to an attorney involved in the deal.
Past owner Bayshore Landing LLC had been working for months to sell the property and closed on a deal Thursday, according to Ronald Kriss, who represented the buyers. The new owners, Aligned Bayshore Raw Bar and Aligned Bayshore Marina, are tied to Jose Hevia, former CEO of Flagler Development.
The bayfront facilities at 2550 S. Bayshore Dr. include an 800-seat restaurant, 150-slip marina and offices and commercial shops, including a Starbucks. The structure sits on city-owned land and the marina stands on submerged land owned by the state. The lease with the city is good until 2035.
Past owners include Monty Trainor and former Miami Mayor Manny Diaz.
