The puppy peed on the elevator floor — so he threw the 6-month-old into the walls, cops say

A Miami man faces a felony charge after police say he threw a puppy around an elevator.

Karim Ellaisy, 21, was arrested last Thursday on one count of animal cruelty, according to his complaint affidavit.

Miami-Dade police responded to the Brickell Heights condo complex just before 6:30 p.m. in reference to a report of animal abuse. There, officers were shown a video of Ellaisy walking into an elevator with a 6-month old Siberian Husky.

As the doors closed, the dog began to urinate on the floor. That’s when Ellaisy lost it.

“He yanked on the husky’s leash causing it to slam against the elevator wall,” the affidavit said.

It only got worse.

Ellaisy “slapped the husky with an open hand multiple times before throwing the husky against the other wall of the elevator,” the affidavit continued.

After watching the video, officers went to the home of the dog owner who told law enforcement that Ellaisy’s conduct “was his way of correcting the husky,” according to the affidavit.

The 21-year-old was booked into a jail later that evening. Court records show he posted his $5,000 bond on Monday.
