Brightline train kills a pedestrian on Biscayne Boulevard, Miami-Dade police say

A Brightline train struck and killed a woman walking along the railroad tracks Monday night on Biscayne Boulevard, according to Miami-Dade County police.

Around 7:15 p.m., officers arrived at 18600 Biscayne Blvd. after receiving reports that a pedestrian was hit, said Detective Andre Martin, a Miami-Dade police spokesman.

Martin said the train’s conductor said the woman was walking along the tracks pushing a shopping cart.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue paramedics declared the woman dead at the scene, Martin added. Police have not identified her.
