A congested intersection in Northeast Miami-Dade, which was shut down for railroad work, is open again, thanks to the work being completed two days ahead of schedule.

The intersection of Miami Gardens Drive and the Florida East Coast Railway — just west of Biscayne Boulevard — has been closed since Oct. 25.

All Aboard Florida, the parent company of Brightline and MiamiCentral, made improvements to the existing tracks as part of the future $3-billion, high-speed rail service . The service will connect West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami and is scheduled to begin by the end of 2017.
