Aventura’s Trips and Tours’ spring schedule set

The City of Aventura’s Trips and Tours program has posted its upcoming excursions for the spring 2015 season. The city will be offering an Intracoastal Waterway cruise with dinner at Tony Wu’s, a viewing of Casa Valentina presented by GableStage at the Biltmore and a trip to Sawgrass Mills outlet mall.

The program was established in 1996, a year after the city was incorporated, to provide recreational services to citizens at a time when Aventura did not have parks or a community center.

“The Trips and Tours is the program we are most proud of because it represents the city’s service to excellence for our residents,” said Robert Sherman, the Community Services director.

Registration opens for Aventura residents at 8:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23 and registration for nonresidents will be available March 2. Participants can register online or at the Community Recreation Center, 3375 NE 188th St., Aventura.
