Interim commissioner Goldman wins Sunny Isles Beach seat
Real estate attorney Dana Goldman won 51.49 percent of the 1,089 ballots cast in the special election held Tuesday for Commissioner Seat 3 in Sunny Isles Beach.
Her opponents, Kevin Thomas and Gene Newman, garnered 31.51 percent and 17.01 percent, respectively.
The city commission in December appointed Goldman to fill the seat on a interim basis after former commissioner George “Bud” Scholl was elected mayor in November.
She previously chaired the city advisory committee, a liason with residents, and hosted the city’s condo workshop series that educated condo residents and associations about rights and responsibilities.
