Miami-Dade Police say DNA left on an open Rough Rider condom wrapper pointed to Coconut Grove’s Donnell Johnson in the April attempted rape of a 75-year-old Miami-Dade woman.
Johnson, 46, faces charges of burglary with an attempted battery and attempted sexual battery without serious physical injury. He was released after making $7,500 bond. The details on his rap sheet tell of drug possession convictions and one for driving with a suspended license.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told police the 5-11, 190-pound Johnson forced his way into her house and attempted to sexually assault her on April 27. Police say they found an open blue and white Rough Rider condom wrapper at the scene. When tested, Johnson’s DNA was found on the wrapper.
Police claim Johnson later admitted using Rough Rider brand of condoms as well as occasionally visiting friends in the area of the 75-year-old woman’s home.
