Miami ranked #7 for college internships
South Florida isn’t usually thought of as a “college” town, but the region actually has hundreds of thousands of college students. A new report has some good news for them: There are lots of college internships for students who need them.
The report by GoodCall, a consumer website focused on data, ranks Miami as the “#7 Best Large City for finding a summer internship.”
In conducting its ranking, GoodCall looked at city population figures and compared them with the number of internships listed on the jobs website Indeed.com. Cities were then ranked by the number of internships per 10,000 residents.
The city of Miami, with a population of 413,201, had 161 internships, which equals about 0.39 internships per 10,000 residents. That ranks just ahead of Minneapolis (0.37) and just behind St. Louis (0.45).
The top five cities in the “Large City” category:
▪ Washington, D.C.
▪ Atlanta
▪ San Francisco
▪ Boston
▪ Pittsburgh
