2 pets killed in West Miami-Dade house fire

A house fire Sunday morning in West Miami-Dade killed two family pets.

Miami Dade Fire Rescue was called to the 1400 block of SW 102nd Court after a fire broke out at a family home.

When Miami-Dade Fire Rescue arrived at the home, in the 1400 block of Southwest 102nd Court, the fire had extended to the attic.

A mom and her daughter were home at the time. They got out safely but they lost their family pets, a cat and a dog.

Firefighters say the fire burned part of the roof of the exterior and the majority of the ceiling had to be pulled. The damage from the fire, which is under investigation, is extensive.
