A woman was arrested and charged with attempted second degree murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police say she stabbed her longtime girlfriend inside a Northwest Miami home when her girlfriend tried to end their relationship.
Iris Lugo, 45, was being held Tuesday at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $27,500 bond.
According to Lugo's arrest report, she and her girlfriend were together for eight years.
“The victim has been wanting to end the relationship with [Lugo] but [Lugo] has been making threats to kill her and the victim's daughter if she left her,” an officer wrote in the report.

On Monday, Lugo's girlfriend was getting ready to leave the home on the 9100 block of Northwest 25th Avenue and “they became involved in a dispute,” an officer wrote.
The victim then pushed her daughter out of the room to Lugo's sister, who also lived in the house, according to the report.
Police say Lugo then stabbed her girlfriend several times, causing a collapsed lung and punctured colon.
