A man was found dead inside a car with what was described as a head injury.
His body was spotted Wednesday night inside a gray Toyota Corolla in the GolfView apartment complex on Fontainebleau Boulevard and Northwest 97th Avenue.
A woman found the man, in his 20s, around 6 p.m. and called police. Police said the man suffered blunt force trauma to his head.
“I believe the woman tried to go over to provide assistance when she noticed there was some type of incident in the car,’’ said police spokesman Daniel Ferrin. “At that point, it was when she dialed 911.’’
The man was found in the driver’s seat, and there didn’t appear to be any damage to the car, Ferrin said.
Police continued their investigation late into the night.
Police were waiting on the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s Office to help determine when and how the man died.
Ferrin said police believe someone must have heard something because it is a “highly trafficked’’ area.
“This could have happened at any time,” Ferrin said. “We urge if there are any citizens in the area who may have seen this, please contact us.’’
Crime scene tape blocked much of the complex’s parking lot and residents had to show their ID to get into their homes. Most residents stayed inside.
Golfview is a two-story building with one entrance and about 20 apartments.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
