Two rescued from sinking boat off Haulover Inlet
Two people were rescued uninjured from a sinking boat off of Haulover Inlet on Saturday morning.
Just after 8 a.m., the U. S. Coast Guard reported a distress call from a vessel that was taking on water, according to a release from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. The boat was located at least six miles east of Haulover Inlet
Coast Guard Safeboat 33 was the first to arrive at the scene, and the crew were able to ensure the safety of the two people onboard. The two boaters did not require medical attention, authorities said.
The partially submerged vessel was secured and towed to Haulover Marina.
The Coast Guard, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Aventura Marine Patrol took part in the multi-agency rescue.
No cause for the incident was reported.
