Heavy roadwork this week will disrupt the commute on several expressways and surface roads in Miami-Dade County.

On State Road 836, westbound or eastbound ramps at various sites will be closed for temporary lighting installation and other tasks through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night, and also from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday. The ramps include those at Northwest 17th, 45th and 57th avenues.

On 42nd Avenue, also known as LeJeune Road, all lanes will be closed through Friday from 11 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. each night between Northwest 11th and 16th streets for delivery of a crane.

A similar all-lane closure will take place on Northwest 37th Avenue at 14th Street for bridge demolition through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Another complete lane closure will take place on Northwest 29th Avenue between 14th and 11th streets, also for bridge demolition through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

On the Homestead Extension of Florida’s Turnpike, one lane in each direction may be closed nightly at various locations between Southwest 216th and 104th streets/Killian Parkway from 9 or 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday for widening and toll express lane construction.

Also on the turnpike, up to two lanes in both directions may be closed at various locations between Southwest 72nd Street/Sunset Drive and Southwest 40th Street/Bird Road from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night through Thursday, also for widening and toll express lane construction.

Elsewhere on the turnpike, two southbound or northbound lanes at various locations between Okeechobee Road and Northwest 106th Street will be closed overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Thursday for paving.

Another major event on State Road 826 will be the nightly closure of all northbound lanes at Southwest Eighth Street through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. for paving and installation of overhead signs.

On still another stretch of 826, workers involved in the construction of toll express lanes will close one northbound or one southbound lane between Northwest 25th and 154th streets through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Work, meanwhile, will continue on the reconstruction of a massive interchange between 826 and 836. There will be on and off single and double lane closures on southbound and northbound 826 from south of Northwest 25th Street to Southwest Eighth Street between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. through Thursday.
