Kidnapped baby girl found alive in Orlando; person of interest located near Fort Pierce

Police have found baby Taraji Kemp, a 2-month-old girl kidnapped from her home in Broward County late Friday night.

Kemp was found alive in Orlando, according to Joy Oglesby, spokeswoman for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office.

The search began after Kemp was taken from her home at around 11 p.m., while her mother and sibling were asleep in the home in the 2700 block of NW 14th Court in unincorporated Broward County.

Authorities say two intruders, one armed with a gun, broke into the home and snatched the child.

The ensuing Amber Alert likely woke up many Floridians just after 7 a.m. Saturday.

People were advised to be on the lookout for Taraji, who had been wearing a pink onesie when she was kidnapped.

Her picture was quickly shared across social media as police continued their search throughout the day.

Just after 5 p.m., Oglesby tweeted that the child had been found in Orlando and was in the hospital.

Authorities also located a person of interest in the kidnapping, 23-year-old Stephanie Augustin.

She was found near Fort Pierce, in the dark blue 2010 Nissan Altima police had been looking for.

Augustin was being interviewed by detectives late Saturday afternoon.
