All lanes of I-395 eastbound west of Biscayne Blvd. reopened
All lanes of eastbound I-395 have been reopened as of 4 p.m.
Florida Highway Patrol shut down part of I-395 eastbound Friday afternoon due to “highway structural damage.”
The chunk of road, west of Biscayne Boulevard, is a main artery for those attending the South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
The damage was a “substantial gap in a joint where SR 836 meets I-395,” according to Miami Herald news partner CBS4. The channel reported that a beam broke around 7 a.m., and the resulting separation left four drivers with flat tires before repairs began.
