Miami-Dade police are looking for the driver of a silver Mercedes-Benz C-Class who slammed into a teenager Monday morning and took off.

Javier Valdes, 15, was attempting to cross Northwest 22nd Avenue in the 7900 block at about 6:30 a.m. when he was hit, according to police.

Police say Javier was in the designated cross walk, but a car traveling south on Northwest 22nd Avenue had the right of way.

The driver then took off in an unknown direction.

The teen was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
