Crowds and sales at Art Wynwood in Miami

In its fifth year, Art Wynwood packed its VIP opening Thursday. First-night sales at the art fair included “Sleeping Beauty,” a painting of the American flag by songwriter / artist Bernie Taupin for $28,000 at Waterhouse & Dodd gallery, “The Weapon of Peace” glass sculpture by Robert Mickelson for $150,000 at Gray Space gallery and “Girl with a Balloon” by famed street artist Banksy for an undisclosed six figures at Avant Gallery. The fair continues through Monday in Midtown Miami.
