$15,000 reward for man wanted in Polk County triple murder
The reward for information leading to the arrest of Jamaal John Smith, who is wanted for a triple homicide in Polk County, has been increased to $15,000, the Miami-Dade Police Department announced Monday.
Two Miami men have already been arrested and charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. Andrew Joseph, 35, and Jonathan Alcegaire, 26, were arrested earlier this month in connection with the Jan. 6 Lakeland shooting.
Police said Joseph, Alcegaire and another man rented a U-Haul truck in Miami and drove to a known drug house in Lakeland. An altercation ensued and three were left dead: David Washington, 24; Eneida Branch, 31, and Angelica Guadalupe Castro, 23. A fourth man, 18-year-old Felix Campos, was shot in the face but survived.
Smith, who also goes by “Jay, Jay” or “Wolf,” is 25 years and and should be considered armed and dangerous, police said.
Miami-Dade County Crimestoppers, Heartland Crimestoppers and Polk County Sheriff’s Office are each offering up to $5,000, for $15,000, for information leading to Smith's arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Police Homicide Detective R. Miller at 305-471-2400, Sgt. C. Lynn of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 863-287-5706 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
