Weather alert: Rain, then even cooler with mid-50s overnight in South Florida
After a cool couple of days, South Florida will get even cooler Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
Temperatures are forecast to dip into the low- to mid 50s overnight.
“The coolest air of the season is on the way,” said CBS4 meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez.
“We have been pretty warm, so even with a slight cool down it will feel pretty cold,” said Steven Ippoliti, a National Weather Service meteorologist.
Temperatures will bounce back to the 80s by Friday.

Like Monday, Tuesday morning also has brought cool air to the region. Highs will struggle to reach 70 degrees.
But unlike Monday, rain is part of the package.
Early morning showers soaked roadways. Several serious crashes are posing challenges to Morning commuters, especially in Broward.
Crashes closed lanes on I-95 at Hallandale Beach Boulevard and Florida’s Turnpike at Sunrise Boulevard. In Miami-Dade, early crashes were reported on State Road 112 near Northwest 22nd Avenue, I-95 at Ives Dairy Road, and Southwest Eighth Street at 117th Avenue.
