Coral Springs carjacker nabs SUV, returns 6-year-old passenger

A man who stole an SUV in Coral Springs ended up briefly kidnapping a 6-year-old girl Wednesday night.

The car’s owner was gassing up at the Sunoco at 7801 W. Sample Rd. when a man leapt into his Kia Optima and drove away, police told Miami Herald news partner CBS4.

Two miles down the road, the thief stopped and let the 6-year-old girl out of the car, where she was later discovered by a jogger.

The Optima, tag number CQQ V13, is still missing.
