Teen shot several times, driver hit by glass from sprayed bullets in Allapattah
Two males opened fire on a 16-year-old as he walked westbound on Northwest 39th Street in Miami, spraying several parked vehicles and nearby buildings with 30 to 40 rounds of bullets and also injuring a driver in his car Saturday afternoon in Miami.
According to Miami Police, Jamal Piez, 16, was walking on 39th Street from Northwest 16th Avenue in Allapattah when two males opened fire on him. Pieze ran for cover as bullets flew, one hitting the driver’s window of a red Pontiac Grand Am driven by Ronald Galindo, 30, as he drove southbound on Northwest 17th Avenue.
Galindo, who suffered eye injuries from his shattered car window, was transported by Miami Fire Rescue to Jackson Memorial Hospital where he was in stable condition Saturday evening.
Pieze, hit multiple times, was transported by a third party to Jackson and is also in stable condition, reported Miami Police spokesman Rene Pimentel.
Miami police worked a perimeter in the area following the 2:45 p.m. shooting and are “looking for the two offenders responsible for the shooting,” Pimentel said.
The investigation is ongoing.
