Miami-Dade bus swerves, crashes into jewelry stores

Three people were hospitalized Thursday night after a Miami-Dade transit bus crashed into a building in historic downtown Miami.

Miami Fire Rescue Capt. Ignatius Carroll told Miami Herald news partner CBS4 the bus driver swerved to avoid a red Honda near northwest 1st street and North Miami avenue.

The bus punched through the walls of three jewelry stores, causing serious damage. The three passengers, bus driver and the woman driving the Honda are all expected to be OK.
