If you are looking to take public transportation over the Christmas or New Year’s Holidays, make sure you are aware of the following tweaks to the Miami-Dade Transit schedule:

▪  On Wednesday, Christmas Eve, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a regular weekday schedule.

▪  On Thursday, Christmas Day, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a Sunday schedule with less-frequent service. Also, weekday-only routes, such as the I-95 Dade-Broward Express and the I-95 Express going to Golden Glades will not run.

▪  On New Year’s Eve, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a regular weekday schedule. Additionally, after 8 p.m., Metrorail will continue regular weekday service with a 15-minute frequency between the Dadeland South and Earlington Heights stations; and every 30 minutes between the Palmetto and Earlington Heights stations. This service will be extended into New Year’s Day. The last northbound and southbound trains will depart from the Government Center Station at around 2 a.m. Metromover will also run until 2 a.m.

▪  On New Year’s Day, Metrobus, Metrorail and Metromover will operate on a Sunday schedule, which means that weekday-only routes, such as the I-95 Dade-Broward Express and the I-95 Express going to Golden Glades, will not run.

Parking facilities at Metrorail stations will remain open through Jan. 1.
