Two teenagers were hospitalized late Sunday after they were struck by a wrong-way driver in downtown Miami.
Miami Fire Rescue said the driver was heading east in the westbound lanes of Northeast 11th Street near First Avenue, when he crashed into another vehicle before hitting the teens.
The female victims, ages 18 and 19, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, but were said to be in stable condition.
The driver reportedly tried to flee after the crash. Officials said a security guard who witnessed it stopped the driver and held him until police arrived.
