A woman showed up to her mother’s Allapattah home Wednesday afternoon to find her mom in a pool of blood on the kitchen floor and her brother in an adjacent room holding a gun, Miami police said.
“She went because her mother wasn’t picking up the phone,” Miami police spokeswoman Kenia Fallat said.
The woman ran outside and frantically called 911.
Members of the SWAT team went in to check on the woman’s mother, identified as 70-year-old Concepccion Loholfftz, who was found dead when the team arrived to the home at 1748 NW 30th St. Roberto Jose Reyes, 43, was also found dead.

It was not clear when the man shot and killed himself, Fallat said.
“Homicide detectives are looking closely at the circumstances that led to their death, but the facts surrounding the incident appear to be a murder suicide,” Fallat wrote in a statement. “Where the son shot and killed the mother and later turned the gun on himself.”
