Demonstrations, food and fun at free Miami fire expo on Saturday

Sparky the Dog and Santa Claus will be the special guests at the city of Miami Fire-Rescue Expo on Saturday at Bayfront Park, 301 N. Biscayne Blvd.

The free event, which runs from 10a.m. to 2p.m., features activities including simulated fire, rescue and vehicle extrication demonstrations, fire truck and boat displays, K-9 handlers meet-and-greets, and the Fire and Life Safety Education trailer.

There will also be local food trucks and other activities for children.
