Haitian cardinal to celebrate Mass in Miami’s Little Haiti

Chibly Langlois, the first Haitian man and the youngest ever to hold that position in the Catholic Church, will celebrate his first Mass as a cardinal in Miami.

The Archdiocese of Miami announced in a news release that Cardinal Langlois, 55, bishop of the Diocese of Les Cayes, will join the Haitian community this Sunday, Nov. 23, at 9:30 a.m. at Notre Dame d’Haiti, 110 N.E. 62nd St.

As president of the Haitian bishops’ conference, Cardinal Langlois is often in South Florida for for meetings of PROCHE — the Partnership for the Reconstruction of the Church in Haiti after the Jan. 12, 2010 earthquake, the archdiocese said.
