A tanker truck spilled about 500 gallons of fuel near North Bay Village about noon Thursday while trying to refuel a recreational vessel, the U.S. Coast Guard reported.
The fuel streamed into a storm drain in the 200 block of North Shoreline Drive, officials said in a statement. But there was no sign the fuel had made it to the Intracoastal Waterway by Thursday evening. The truck is owned by Fuel Tech Miami.
The Coast Guard was working with Miami-Dade County fire staff, police, public works and an environmental team to monitor the spill.
