A man was killed early Sunday morning after he attempted to cross the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 from the west side to the east side near Northwest 135th Street and was struck by at least two cars.
Witnesses said the man “was just taking a stroll,” said Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Joe Sanchez.
“The impact was so severe he lost his life,” Sanchez said.
The man was first hit by an SUV, which was heavily damaged, and then by a car. The drivers of both vehicles stayed at the scene.
Sanchez said the drivers were not charged.
I-95 was shut down for about three hours after the accident.
