Miami Fire Rescue saves kitten from drain
Miami Fire Rescue crews used their talents to rescue a furry friend on Monday.
The incident happened near Northwest 30th Street and Ninth Avenue after Miami Fire Rescue got a call about a cat stuck in a drain.
Cameras captured the rescue as a firefighter went into a manhole, scouring the water in search of the kitten. After about 20 minutes of searching, the crew was able to spot the black kitten in the murky water, surrounded by mud and plastic bottles.
The three-man crew fished the kitten from the manhole and rinsed him off.
“It was kind of tough ... but we were able to get him out and save a little cat’s life,” said Lt. Gerardo Rodriguez.
