Miami-Dade sheriff’s homicide detectives will investigate a fire and explosion at a county facility that left one person dead and several others injured on Monday morning.

Officials say over 40 Miami-Dade Rescue units responded to reports of an explosion near the Miami-Dade depot at 6100 SW 87th Ave., north of Kendall, just after 10 a.m. The depot is where fire-rescue vehicles get fueled up and serviced, according to WPLG.

They began evacuating the area and found one man dead. First responders took three men — one of whom is a MDSO lieutenant — to the hospital and another man went on his own to the hospital. One person is in critical condition.

The state fire marshal, Miami-Dade fire rescue and the sheriff’s office will investigate.
