An ammonia leak inside the Homestead Air Reserve Base on Wednesday morning sent four people to a hospital with non-serious injuries, officials say. Around 9:45 a.m., Miami-Dade Fire Rescue was called in for a “hazardous situation” on the base at 29050 Coral Sea Blvd. A media spokesperson for the base confirmed the “situation” was an ammonia leak. Fire Rescue said it took four people to a hospital. They were taken to the hospital “out of an abundance of caution,” base officials said.

The base is back to normal operations.
