Miami-Dade construction worker injured in flooded tunnel, sheriff’s office says
A construction worker was injured after a water main ruptured, flooding a tunnel, Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Angel Rodriguez said.
The man was trapped inside underground for several minutes around 10:22 p.m. Monday at a construction site near Southwest 120th Avenue and 220th Street, Rodriguez said.
He was knocked unconscious during the incident, according to Rodriguez. His co-workers pulled him from the tunnel, initiated CPR and called authorities.
