Since the start of the year, health insurance premiums have risen for many Floridians who purchase their coverage on the federal Health Insurance Marketplace.

Premiums had been on the rise for some time, but the expiration of enhanced subsidies through the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, caused some people’s premiums to jump in 2026.

Now, many people struggling with affordability are debating if they should keep their coverage, take a worse but cheaper plan, or drop their insurance altogether.

If you live in Miami-Dade, do you purchase coverage through the federal Health Insurance Marketplace? Has your premium gone up since the start of the year?

If so, we’d love to hear your experience.
