The privately run speed cameras posted up around Miami-Dade school zones generated about 252,000 citations in the first eight months of the program, according to Miami Herald reporting from earlier this year.

The county’s vendor, RedSpeed, currently has more than 120 camera locations in Miami-Dade and is continuing to build out its network.

Since the cameras began operating in late 2024, thousands of drivers have had their licenses suspended for nonpayment of the $100 speeding tickets.
