Motorcyclist dies after hitting barrier on Miami highway, FHP says

A motorcyclist died in the hospital after crashing into a construction barrier on the westbound Interstate 395 exit ramp in Miami on Monday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The man crashed into the barrier around 5:30 a.m. and was ejected from his motorcycle and landed in the construction zone, said Lt. Alex Camacho, an FHP spokesman.

Paramedics took him to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died, Camacho said.

The exit ramp remained closed throughout Monday morning.
