Man dead after being struck by Brightline train near Midtown Miami: police

A 30-year-old man died after being struck by a Brightline train in Miami on Friday night, according to police.

Around 8:20 p.m., officers arrived to Northeast Second Avenue and 29th Street after getting reports of a pedestrian being struck by a train. A man with serious injuries was found and taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.

Police have yet to release his identity.

The railroads arms, lights and audio bells were working at the time of the crash, police say.
