Two Miami police motorcycle officers were hospitalized after crashing on the Dolphin Expressway on Wednesday morning, the department said.

The officers went down in the westbound lanes of State Road 836 near 47th Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Police initially thought an SUV driver cut them off, but now the department isn’t sure, said Officer Michael Vega, a police spokesman.

Vega said the officers “will be okay,” but they were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital to get treated for arm, leg and shoulder injuries.

The highway has since reopened.
