A tense standoff inside a house ended peacefully Friday morning when Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office negotiators talked a barricaded man into surrendering, the agency said.

Deputies arrived at the home, located at the 14100 block of Northwest 5th Avenue, around 10:15 a.m. after receiving a call about what the sheriff’s office described as “a domestic-related incident.

A person in the home, whom the sheriff’s office said was “the victim,” escaped, but the man barricaded himself inside. The sheriff’s office did not detail what led to the person fleeing the home.

Negotiators were eventually able to convince him to come out, and “he was taken into custody without incident,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The sheriff’s office has not named either person, and it was not immediately known if the man will face charges.
