There’s one more election in 2025. Early voting begins in three Miami-Dade cities
In Hialeah, Miami and Miami Beach, there’s still one more election to go this year.
Tuesday, Dec. 9, is the date of the runoff election in those cities, where a handful of races with multiple candidates were undecided in the Nov. 4 general election.
Early voting locations are open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday in all three cities. Secure ballot boxes will be available for voters who wish to drop off a mail-in ballot, too. All mail-in ballots must be received by the Elections Department by 7 p.m. Tuesday in order to be counted.
Check below to see the early voting sites in your city.
Hialeah
Early voting in Hialeah will take place this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the John F. Kennedy Library, 190 W. 49th St.
On Friday, the site will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the site will open at 9 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
Hialeah voters have two races on the ballot:
- Councilmember Group III: Jessica Castillo or Gelien Perez
- Councilmember Group IV: William “Willy” Marrero or Javier Morejon
Both races are open to voters across the city.
Miami
City of Miami residents can head to the polls Friday, Saturday or Sunday for early voting.
On Friday, the hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday, the polling locations open at 8 a.m. and close at 4 p.m.
There are eight sites to choose from:
- Carrie P. Meek Senior and Cultural Center, 1300 NW 50th St., Liberty City
- Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Coconut Grove
- Gerry Curtis Park Community Center, 1901 NW 24th Ave., Allapattah
- Hispanic Branch Library, 1398 SW First St. #100, Little Havana
- Legion Memorial Park Community Center, 6447 NE Seventh Ave., Upper East Side
- Shenandoah Branch Library, 2111 SW 19th St., Shenandoah
- Stephen P. Clark Center lobby, 111 NW First St., Downtown Miami
- West Flagler Branch Library, 5050 W. Flagler St., Flagami
The mayoral runoff between candidates Emilio González and Eileen Higgins will be on the ballot for all city voters.
Residents of Miami’s District 3, which includes Little Havana, East Shenandoah and The Roads, will also select a new city commissioner. The two candidates are Frank Carollo and Rolando Escalona.
Miami Beach
Early voting in Miami Beach coincides with Art Basel, one of the busiest weekends of the year in the city. To make things easier for residents, there will be four early-voting locations spread across Miami Beach, all with extended hours:
- Miami Beach City Hall, 1700 Convention Center Drive, South Beach
- South Shore Community Center, 833 Sixth St., South Beach
- Muss Park, 4300 Chase Ave., Mid Beach
- North Shore Branch Library, 7501 Collins Ave., North Beach
Each of the four sites will be open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters should be aware that the City Hall polling site is across the street from the Miami Beach Convention Center, where Art Basel is taking place. Congestion in the area should be expected.
There is only one item on the ballot: the Group I commission race between Monica Matteo-Salinas and Monique Pardo Pope. The race is open to all city voters because Miami Beach’s elected officials represent the entire city, not individual districts.
