Miami-Dade and Florida Forest Service firefighters continued fighting a brush fire off the Dolphin Expressway into Monday night.

The fire started off State Road 836 and Northwest 137th Avenue around 2 p.m.

Michelle Danielson, senior forester with the Florida Forest Service, said that by 6:30 p.m. the fire had grown to about 22 acres and was 95 percent contained.

Firefighters had estimated the fire to be 90 acres early Monday evening, but adjusted the size as more information became available, Danielson said.

A Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson said there are no reported injuries, and the fire was not threatening any structures or roadways.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
