Volunteers filled the kitchen of Camillus House on Thursday and people in need filled the dining room as the homeless shelter once again opened its doors for one of the larger Thanksgiving meals in Miami.
The Miami institution served more than 400 meals, mostly prepared by volunteers who got up early on Thanksgiving to cook, serve and clean. It was the 65th Thanksgiving for Camillus House, a tradition that offers a yearly window into the city’s sprawling needs and those who are trying to help.
