Traffic delays expected for Miami-Dade deputy’s funeral Tuesday. See the routes

Drivers in the area around LoanDepot Park, State Road 836 and Florida’s Turnpike should expect traffic delays throughout Tuesday morning and early afternoon for the funeral of fallen Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Deputy Devin Jaramillo.

There will be a funeral service for Jaramillo at 10 a.m. Tuesday at LoanDepot Park, home of the Miami Marlins. The sheriff’s office is expecting up to 20,000 people to attend and pay their respects.

The service is scheduled to end at 1 p.m. Expect lane closures on the roadways.

There also be a private Mass before the event, and a procession afterward to the stadium, and another one leaving the park. Both will impact traffic.

Morning route (from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.)

The procession will start at 9 a.m. at Southwest 27th Avenue and Flagler Street, before heading north along Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest Seventh Street. From there, it will continue east to Northwest Seventh Street and 17th Avenue, before arriving at LoanDepot Park.

Afternoon Route (1 p.m. to 2 p.m.)

The procession is scheduled to leave the stadium at 1 p.m., heading north on Northwest 17th Avenue to State Road 836. It will head west on SR 836 to Florida’s Turnpike, then travel south on the Turnpike to Southwest 120th Street.

The procession is expected to head east on Southwest 120th Street to Southwest 117th Avenue, continuing four blocks north on Southwest 116th Street.
