Now that we have changed time, when will it get dark in Miami through December?

Daylight saving time ended over the weekend, and we all should have turned our clocks back an hour.

That means it’s getting dark earlier each evening. On Sunday, the first day of standard time, sunset in South Florida was 5:38 p.m.

Will it continue to get dark earlier each night the rest of November and into December? What about daybreak?

When did the time change?

Standard time in 2025 started at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, when we fell back an hour.

In 2026, daylight saving time returns at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 8.

When we moved the clocks forward at 2 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, sunrise in Miami was at 6:30 a.m. and sunset at 5:38 p.m.

The days will continue to get shorter until winter solstice, at 10 a.m. Dec. 21. That marks the shortest day of the year, with 10 1/2 hours of daylight.
