A driver is missing after his truck went into a quarry lake Monday evening, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were called to the quarry at 13292 Northwest 118th Avenue around 5:20 p.m. Workers told them that the driver lost control of the hauling truck, which went over a beam and into the water, Detective Samantha Choon said.

Sheriff’s office divers located the truck, but not the driver, Choon said. On Tuesday, divers were still looking for the driver, although the operation’s status is now considered recovery, not rescue, Choon said.
