Worker seriously injured at Bal Harbour construction site, Miami-Dade Fire says

A worker suffered traumatic injuries at a Bal Harbour construction site Thursday morning, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said.

Ten units from Fire Rescue arrived at the building in the 9800 block of Collins Avenue and found the worker on the second floor, a department spokesperson said.

Firefighters removed the worker from what the department said was a confined space. Authorities did not release the name of the worker.

Paramedics flew the patient to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital. Details about what happened or the extent of injuries were not immediately known.
