If you’re not laboring or in labor on Labor Day, there’s certainly plenty to do. You might be able to knock out some errands, assisted by a worker who should be making overtime holiday pay.

Here’s what’s open and closed in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area on Monday, Sept. 1.

Supermarkets and malls

From Publix to Price Choice, The Falls to Sawgrass Mills and Dadeland and Aventura in between, everybody’s open regular hours.

Big Box

Walmart: Open regular hours.

Target: Open regular hours, but most pharmacies will be open 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Costco: Closed.

BJ’s Wholesale Club: Open regular hours.

Pharmacy chains

CVS/Navarro: Regular store hours, but most pharmacies will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Walgreens: Regular store hours, but most pharmacies will be closed.

Mass Transit

Miami-Dade: Metrobus, Metromover and Metrorail will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Broward: Broward County Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Tri-Rail: Tri-Rail will run on its weekend/holiday schedule.

Garbage

Miami: Normal pickup.

Miami-Dade: Normal pickup. Trash and Recycling centers will be open.

Fort Lauderdale: Regular pickup every day in Fort Lauderdale, aside from Christmas.

Broward: Regular garbage collection. The Broward County Landfill will be closed.

Residents of any other areas, check with your municipality.

Mail

Neither rain, snow nor sleet stops the mail, but holidays like Labor Day do, except Priority Express Mail. Branches will be closed, also.

Courts/Schools/Libraries

Closed.
