Woman killed, parts of Krome Avenue closed after truck crashes into motorcycle: FHP

The Wichita Eagle

A truck crashed into a motorcycle on Krome Avenue, killing a woman and shutting down parts of the major West Miami-Dade road, Florida Highway Patrol said Sunday afternoon.

Hours earlier, the motorcycle was traveling south when a gray Chevrolet pickup truck, which was traveling north on Krome Avenue, tried to turn left near 500 SW 177th Ave., troopers say. Then, the pickup truck collided into the motorcycle.

The motorcycle’s male driver and female passenger were ejected, according to officials. The woman died on scene. The driver was taken to a nearby hospital, where he’s in critical condition.

It’s unclear if the pick-up truck driver was injured or taken into custody as of Sunday afternoon.

Troopers said southbound Krome Avenue remains closed.

This report will be updated as more information becomes available.
